and simple Physio Techniques. There were also Color Therapy Rooms where a patient with a certain ailment
sat or laid down in a Room with the appropriate color for his/her need for so many hours.
There was also a breakthrough in what is known as Orthomacular Nutrition and then__ the invention of Medical Drugs came on the scene, just as Orthomacular Psychiatry was coming in with pleasing results.
Round about the same time the Invention of Sugar took place - separately of-course - and many people were affected with Chemical Imbalances known as Mental Disorders.
Before all this took place, there were Natural Chemists with Natural Remedies, that were sufficient for most needs in general, and Herbalists would often treat those with more serious needs. The DRUG INDUSTRY of that Day started off the BIG PHARMA we know Today
and the MEDICAL PROFESSION commenced in the Early Stages.
SOMETHING IS IMPORTANT FOR EACH OF US TO KNOW WHEN IT COMES TO CHEMIST LINES AND SOME MEDICINAL SUPERMARKET LINES NOW IS THAT THE REGULAR USE OF THEM OFTEN CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS WITH OUR HEALTH, BECAUSE THEY ARE MAN-MADE CHEMICALS.
MOST MEDICATIONS ARE NOT WITHOUT SIDE-EFFECTS AS MOST OF US
ARE AWARE.
IN THE 80's I HEARD A LEADING TUTOR AND PRACTITIONER IN HERBOLOGY STATE IN A CONFERENCE THAT MOST PEOPLE WHO COME TO HIS PRACTICE HAVE WHAT'S KNOWN AS PSEUDO DISORDERS FROM MEDICINES AND MEDICATIONS THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING......THAT THEY WERE NOT WHAT HE CALLED 'REAL' MALADIES.
This is very sad, because there are a number of very well meaning people in the Medical Profession including a 5th Certificate Nursing Sister in our family, and also a really nice
Family GP who has been marvelous with a member of my family.
It is important for you to know that all Medical Practitioners are schooled in
Medical Drugs. That is their training and any current knowledge they may acquire comes from the Medical Drug Companies!
It is also of Vital Importance that you know these things.
Sometimes MDs (General Practitioners) prescribe certain Medicines that clash.
Sometimes they will prescribe surgery (too early) for a Pain Condition before it Corrects Itself.
Often they prescribe Meds at their indiscretion OR request from the Patient.
Most of them are inclined to prescribe Antibiotics like confectionary (that can affect our Immune-Response over time) that's why sometimes they lose the effect they once had.
Also, please note that Antibiotics do not strengthen your Immune System.
The constant use of them can thrash it over time.
Anti-inflammatories are often Over-prescribed for Pain when other measures could be taken
such as a change in posture or certain habits could bring relief; a specific exercise or recreation would benefit. Maybe a deep seated emotional state is involved OR Inflammatory Foods and Substances - that in some cases, one can be addicted to. ie Sugar and Caffeine!
Sometimes a Medication plays a certain Role that nothing else can play and we need to Respect that.
Like SSRIs (Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors) that increase Serotonin effect and at the same time prevent it from going to certain areas of the Brain. You are far better replenishing Serotonin naturally most times (see Medical Politics page)
All too often SSRIs and Anti-Anxiety MEDS like Vallium and Lorazapam.....Statin Drugs
for Cholesterol are prescribed in haste as a 1st resort rather than a last resort.
Whatever you do, don't go off them suddenly.....your Brain or your Body can't
handle it.....there are repercussions you don't want, believe me.
Often Practitioners fail to REVISE Medications.

In 2010, the FDA put tight curbs on the use of the type 2 diabetes drug Avandia. Essentially they made it
a drug of very last resort.
That was a good call. They had plenty of evidence (and it was mounting) that the drug could
increase heart attack and stroke risk.
But leave it to the FDA to put this dangerous drug back on the market at full force.

Lawyers dispute claims over Pandemrix swine flu vaccine which was withdrawn after doctors noticed rise in Narcolepsy cases.
Government lawyers are seeking to block compensation payments to people who developed the
devastating sleep disorder, narcolepsy, as a result of a faulty swine flu vaccine.
The Pandemrix vaccine made by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) was given to 6 million people in Britain and millions more across Europe during the 2009-10 swine flu pandemic, but was withdrawn when doctors noticed a rise in narcolepsy cases among those who received the jab.
Narcolepsy is a permanent condition that can cause people to fall asleep dozens of times a day even when they are in mid-conversation. Some suffer from night terrors and a problem with muscular control called cataplexy that can lead them to collapse on the spot.
In July, scientists at Novartis Vaccines reported progress in understanding how Pandemrix causes narcolepsy in a small percentage of people. Writing in the journal Science Translational Medicine, they described how in affected people, the jab destroyed the bulk of 70,000 neurons in the brain that produce
a “wakefulness” hormone, hypocretin.

Whistleblower Exposes Deadly Effects of Diabetes Drug Actos
Actos, a type-2 diabetes drug manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals, is now the subject of hundreds of lawsuits. It was pulled from the market by both France and Germany a year ago after being found to cause bladder cancer and other tumors. But now, a whistleblower, Dr. Helen Ge, has come forward with a lawsuit of her own stating that the drug company is benefiting from "tens of billions of dollars in sales" at the expense of the lives of people still taking the drug.
Dr. Ge worked in the Takeda's pharmacovigilance division, where she was in charge of reviewing side effects of Actos as reported by patients and physicians. She then prepared safety reports that were filed with the FDA―reports that Dr Ge says she was ordered to water-down or not report at all, so Actos would look better than it actually was.
Dr. Ge believes Actos is even more dangerous than Avandia.
She believes that, besides bladder cancer and tumors, Actos is also connected to heart attacks and stroke, suicide, schizophrenia, homicidal ideation, and renal failure. Dr. Ge claims Takeda concealed reports from regulators about hundreds of heart failure cases directly related to the drug in an attempt to drive sales.
Dr. Ge filed her lawsuit in September 2011. Actos is still being sold in the United States.
Takeda Agrees to Settle Actos Lawsuits
The Japanese pharmaceutical giant, Takeda Pharmaceutical, has finally agreed to pay a $2.4 billion dollar settlement brought against them. The lawsuit was brought against the company by diabetic patients and members of their family, who alleged that Takeda’s diabetes drug Actos (Pioglitazone) has resulted in bladder cancer.
Current State of Actos Lawsuits
Approximately 9,000 claims of bladder cancer resulting from Actos are still pending against Takeda, as lawyers who represent the plaintiffs has said that the pharmaceutical company purposely concealed prior knowledge of risk of bladder cancer associated with the drug.
Takeda Denies Liability
However, Takeda Pharmaceuticals have not admitted to being liable, they simply decided to settle to avoid the time consuming uncertainties that would come with lengthy and complex litigation.
Takeda insisted that the claims made in the lawsuit were inadequate, while pointing out that the benefits of the diabetes drug Actos, by far out-weighed the risk. They also commented that this decision to settle will not change how committed the company is to Actos,and will continue to sell it’s product in Japan, the US,
and several other European countries.

Because acetaminophen is one of the most popular tools for treating pain, study author Gustavo Machado, a PhD student at the George Institute for Global Health and the University of Sydney medical school in Australia, says he and his co-authors wanted to assess its safety and efficacy. And their findings are not too promising: "Our results revealed that acetaminophen provides only trivial benefits for patients with hip or knee osteoarthritis in terms of
pain reduction and improvement of function and quality of life," Machado says. The researchers also found acetaminophen to be entirely ineffective for low back pain.
